2020 Archery Summit Vineyard Chardonnay

Summit is our home vineyard that surrounds our winery in the Dundee Hills AVA. In recent years, we carved out just over an acre of this 16 acre vineyard to plant chardonnay vines. This vineyard is an extension of our efforts to establish the best combinations of vines and rootstock with soil and mesoclimate, ensuring a natural acidity combined with a concentration of flavor.

This Chardonnay comes out singing, pouring a straw yellow in color with silver-green edges. There are pronounced aromatic notes of curry leaf, candied lemon, white citrus flower, wet hay and spicy oak, swirling as one out of the glass. While generous and in terms of flavor, structure and juiciness, the wine is also mysterious and lean. The lemon lime notes are offset beautifully by subtle hints of spice—all held in check by a pleasant level of acidity. And just when you think it’s come and gone, the lovely minerality persists well past the finish, leaving you wanting more.
