2020 Chamisal Vineyards Sanford & Benedict Pinot Noir
Sanford and Benedict is considered one of the pioneering vineyards of California’s Central Coast. The block we source from was planted in 1973, the same year Chamisal was originally planted so we felt it was fitting. These old vines produce a lithe, elegant Pinot Noir, quite different to our more structured Chamisal Pinot Noir. A delicious but quite different addition to our lineup.
Pale ruby in the glass, this expressive Pinot Noir opens with lively raspberry, red currant, and crunchy cranberry that lead into aromas of candied violets and warm spices. Bright and focused acidity followed by elegant tannins make for a wine that is fresh, savory, and textured.
